This strip-mall cafe in close proximity to Kings Automall is lots of points (component cafe, part nightclub, aspect Center Jap, aspect Russian) but lula kebab is an Armenian minced meat specialty. Completely chargrilled, these are the juiciest, most flavorful kebabs you will at any time have.

Taft’s Brewporium’s The Roebling

New Haven–style pizza (also identified as “apizza,”)—with its slim, a bit charred crust and bright pink sauce—is my best pie. And the coal-fired oven at Taft’s Brewporium does the style justice. The Roebling, although heartily topped with meatballs, pepperoni, and ricotta, someway retains its business, crispy crust.

Lemon and capers include contrasting zest and saltiness, although yard-clean green beans provide as a reminder that this is, in truth, evening meal.
