West Hempstead bakery owner Sydney Perry defeat out seven other bakers including the pastry chef of a Michelin three-star cafe to gain Meals Network’s “Spring Baking Championship: Easter,” which achieved its period-1 finale Monday night.
“We were being standing there and they explained my title and it was pretty much, like, ‘Wait a moment. Was that my title?’ ” Perry, who with her spouse owns Sydney’s Sweets, explained to Newsday by mobile phone the subsequent early morning. “I was, like, ‘Oh my God, this is authentic. This actually transpired!’ I was so enthusiastic. I hardly could get any terms out. I was just overcome with thoughts.”
